Magh Mela Prayagraj 2026
The Magh Mela is a significant Hindu festival held in Prayagraj (formerly Allahabad), India, during the month of Magh (January-February). It's a sacred bathing festival where millions of devotees gather at the confluence of the Ganges, Yamuna, and Saraswati rivers (Sangam) to take a holy dip, believed to cleanse sins and bring spiritual growth.
The Magh Mela is also associated with the Kumbh Mela, which takes place every 12 years. During the Kumbh Mela, the spiritual significance and the number of pilgrims increase manifold. The Magh Mela, however, is an annual event that attracts a large number of devotees.
